Changing the Shape of Matrix Map Searches
December 9th, 2008These highly requested Matrix Mapping enhancements are designed to allow MRIS customers to determine a more precise search area utilizing the Radius, Polygon or the Rectangle search tool.
New Map Solution:

Polygon Search: The “Draw Polygon” link will allow you to draw free style from point to point, forming whatever shape you desire. Click the “Drawn Polygon” link, left click where you want your starting point (do not use the “press and drag” technique). Left mouse click at each point where you want to change direction. Complete the polygon by clicking on the starting point again (the number in a red circle) or by right clicking the mouse button
Radius Search: Clicking the “Draw Radius” link will allow you to draw a circle over a specific area. Click on the map at the center point for your circle and drag your mouse to draw the shape. As you drag the mouse, the measurement will appear displaying the size of the radius.
Ruler: The Ruler is used to help determine the distances from key landmarks to the listing of interest. Click the Ruler Link located in the lower left hand corner of the map, left click the mouse at the starting point, use a press and drag technique to note the distance, release the left mouse at the ending point. The distance will be displayed in the yellow tag. This is available on the map search and map display.
Driving Directions: We also enhanced our mapping solution with multiple point driving directions. Microsoft Virtual Earth will create the recommended directions automatically however MRIS customers may include custom starts and stops along the way. Agents may also customize the order of the stops to their desired order. When getting driving directions, you may map up to twenty (20) listings on a map.
